Champions League Instagram Content - Tom Paddon Media
Here’s how I made the Champions League Instagram animations with Pepsi and Lays. Looking for a freelance animator and motion designer? Drop me a message today!
Who really does have the best moves?! The Champions League is back once again to declare the 2020 champions of Europe. With Pepsi and Lays sponsoring this year’s competition, the Champions League Instagram page needed some fly 🔥 sponsored animation. *CUE CHOIR*
About the Project
Simple, fun and effective. That was the look and feel COPA90 wanted to achieve with this project. Working alongside them with quite an open brief, we set out to create short, snappy animations that packed a punch at the start, in the middle and at the end of each video.
The project didn’t stop there, though. COPA90 needed the intro and outro sequences to be editable. To make this super-easy for them, I had to make easy to use templates that would look seemless when placed in a video with match footage and other animated elements.
Here’s a video showing off some of the Pepsi animated elements:
About the Idea
The UEFA Champions League Instagram page is huge. With over 55,000,000 (yes 55 million!) followers they have to post consistently and stay on their toes with knowing what their fans want. Not only this, but having the likes of Pepsi and Lays sponsor the posts (and the competition in general) means they need to be on point when it comes to branding and consistency.
Utilising brand colours, themes from across the Champions League Instagram page and our own admittedly lacking brainpower, myself and Tom @ Grizzle came up with an intro and an outro for both the Pepsi and Lays sponsored videos, along with 2 or 3 transition animations to use for cutting between different pieces of football footage.
